Rob Ehrens has a new show-jumping centre
Rob Ehrens has once more erected a new facility in Weert in the Netherlands. The 3.6 hectare site now has new stables with 36 large stalls, a 57 x 32 m indoor arena and an oval horsewalker for 10 horses.
Rob Ehrens was a successful show-jumper himself. In 2005 he won a bronze medal with the Dutch team at the European Championships. He has won tournaments all over the world, for example in Hickstead, Calgary, Wiesbaden and naturally Amsterdam. He is now training the Dutch National Team for the 13th year. At the moment his protégés Jur Vrieling, Johnny Pals and Pieter de Vos are galloping from one success to another. And if this was not enough, he has now also erected this new equestrian centre. It is admittedly something really special. It is generously designed, has huge, chic stalls and features everything horses and riders could wish for. The whole family is involved in running the training stables. “My wife Vilja sees to everything and my son Robbert and his partner Marlies Hoorn ride and take care of anything to do with the stables. We also have two full-time employees at the centre,” Rob Ehrens explains. The centre was conceived solely as a sporting centre. Its facilities serve to train the jumping horses and riders. Horse-breeding is also a sideline. The goal for the future is for the “Stal Ehrens” to evolve into a business that forges new talent. Daily training sessions as well as longer training courses can also be included in the centre’s programme.
This all sounds like a very promising concept. We wish the Ehrens family all the best for the future and much pleasure with the new facilities. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their trust and confidence in us as a supplier for the new “Stal Ehrens”.
