Röwer & Rüb creates new standards for horsewalkers
Horsewalkers are becoming increasingly popular in large and small stables. This is not surprising as they offer horses the chance to exercise and spend time in the paddock as well as providing additional training options. The cleverly designed systems of Röwer & Rüb have proven their worth for decades and meet very high safety standards.
The safety grills are suspended so that a panicking horse can slip under the grills that simply fold away in the direction in which the horse is moving. Röwer & Rüb has now enhanced the safety of these features once more with an innovative safety grill suspension feature. With the new holder, for which a patent has been registered, the safety grill can not only fold away in the direction in which the horse is moving, but it also twists away if pressure is exerted from the side so that the horse can escape unobstructed by passing the grill. The risk of injury is therefore lowered considerably. The mechanism is both simple and clever; it reacts to the pressure of a panicked horse and released the previously blocked rotation. If the grill is parallel to the fence, it remains fixed in this position.
The degree of pressure, i.e. the point at which the grill should release, can be individually adjusted to prevent inventive horses playing around and opening the mechanism. The safety grill is then simply turned back by hand to its original position. All new Röwer & Rüb horsewalkers can be ordered with the new safety grill holder and older systems can be retrofitted. You can see our new system in action in our extensive show park in Thedinghausen or at the Equitana in hall 3 at stand C59 and D59.
